There are so many reasons why we decided to open HarBet Lodge. It all started from the vision of Harrel and Betty Knape, which is why we chose to name it HarBet.
Papa (Harrel) worked very hard to landscape the property to bring peace and inspire and instill the love of the land. He always said:
“What else do you have on this earth except the love of the Lord, the love of the land, and the love of your family?”
We do this to maintain and share the rural lifestyle. Today, so many people do not understand agriculture and simple things like where your food comes from and how it gets from the ranch to the table.
Through visiting HarBet Lodge, we hope our guests will better understand how important it is to take care of the land and each other.
Today, so many people crave the Instagram moment and take pictures on their smartphones, hoping to store the memories in a device in the palm of their hand. And then, photos stack on photos, and they all get lost in the shuffle (or abyss in the cloud), or a phone breaks, images disappear. Rarely do we pause and stay in the moment. This concept is very hard for me to wrap my head around.
I have over 35,000 pictures somewhere in the cloud. Do I ever go back and look at those pictures? No, not really. But when I walk in my living room, and I see the radio that my grandparents used to sit around, or when I see a coffee cup that my aunt made or earrings or as Mom used to call her, “ear bobs,” or even a pumpkin paper bag one of the grandkids made- it puts such joy in my heart, because I thought of somebody with love today. I cherish all those memories associated with it.
Our family still gets together every Christmas Eve and every Easter because of the legacy my family and Greggs instilled in us.

I love decorating and hosting family and friends, so sharing our rural lifestyle with others is something I enjoy, and I want others to see the beauty and create memories on the Ranch.
Gregg has made it his mission to take care of the animals because that’s who we are and what we do. He gets up in the middle of the night to check on mares foaling, horses colicing, and cows trying to calve, and he does all this with a glad heart because he knows that is what he was called to do.
HarBet Lodge is meant to be shared. To provide the beauty we see and allow you to make memories with the ones you love, curating your personal Ranch experience unlike any other.

This property is a hidden gem! Beautiful, cozy, and private! Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The home has such beautiful touches and everything we needed. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are great for gathering. I have a large family and we could all comfortable be together in the living room/ open kitchen as well as out in the back. Cheryl and Gregg stopped by to check on how the place worked out for us, it was very nice meeting them and hearing about the history of the home and area. I definitely recommend this place for your next Airbnb stay!

I came with a family of 10 and we were all comfortable. the house was amazing and stocked with games, drinks, linen, basically anything you would need to be comfortable. I look forward to re-bookinh in the future. The hospitality was 10 times better than staying in a hotel and we were able to take photos and meet the houses with the owners after we checked out. They honestly remind me of my grandparents and felt like family. If you don’t book this place, you’re surely missing out.

We had a wonderful stay! The house is spacious and beautiful, the pictures don’t do it justice. It was spotless from top to bottom and stocked with all necessities and more! We loved the backyard, it was so peaceful and enjoyed the patio furniture and outdoor lights. Mrs. Cheryl and her husband were great hosts and available for any questions. They were so sweet to leave us a jar of homemade salsa with chips and a note. We will definitely be returning!
